Dear Simon,
My friends and myself enjoyed our trip to the three cities ie Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou. We were all happy with the hotels we stayed. They were clean and comfortable.
The breakfast at the Bund Hotel was the best with good spread. The breakfast at the other two hotels are also good. In terms of room comfort, cleanliness and staff service all the three hotels are good.
We would like to express our appreciation to Simon for coordinating the interesting trip schedule which is not too rush with all the transport arrangements well planned ie the minivan and the train tickets.
Please convey our thanks again to the guides, namely Sara in Shanghai, Yvonne in Hangzhou and Linda in Suzhou. They are all effectively bilingual in Mandarin and English, with good knowledge of the historical and cultural background of the places we visited. They have good work attitude and are also patient attending to our enquiries. Timings were punctual. The guides introduced us to some interesting local cuisine during lunches at the restaurants. The drivers were helpful and careful with their driving.
In Shanghai, we enjoyed the visits to the Bund, Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Urban Planning Exihibition Hall. We were impressed by the scale model and the planning on the development of Shanghai city.
In Hangzhou, the interesting places are West Lake, Lingyin Temple and Six Harmony Pagoda. The West Lake Impression show at night was impressive. It was the first time we have seen such a show with performance on the lake and the spectacular lighting effects.
In Suzhou, the interesing sights are Grand Canal, Parmen Gate and Zhouzhuang Water Town (which we think is the most interesting place to visit in Suzhou).
We would highly recommend visitors to the West Lake Impression show in Hangzhou, the Zhouzhuang Water Town in Suzhou, Yuyuan Garden and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall in Shanghai.
Overall we enjoyed our trip to the three cities. Thank you
