Shanghai Century Park
The city of Shanghai is a really big and crowded place and as most of the modern cities, it is living on a fast lane. All that rush and speed are not too beneficial for the health and sometimes it is just needed for a man to relax a bit. Luckily, this city has one of the most beautiful parks in the world, the Shanghai Century Park.
This park is pretty much the fusion of three major styles. Although it has been masterminded by English architects, it represents the mixture of the western and eastern landscape architecture. The influence of the English, Japanese and Chinese style are more than obvious and altogether it gives a pretty much unique touch to this place.
It is a quite big oasis of green and tranquillity in the heart of the modern city and it is spread over the surface of about 140 hectares. There are sections of perfect English lawns, as well as the Chinese style arranged forests and the Japanese gardens. All of this together gives the opportunity to any visitor to find the place that will bring him peace in the environment that suits him the most.
The Lake Islands
The aquatic part of the Shanghai Century Park is rich in small islands in the lakes and they are really nice to see. If you rent a boat, you can even pass by them and the perspective of the whole park from the boat provides a different experience.
The Bird Reservations
There are several bird reservations and they are ideal spot for all those who like to relax listening to their chirping.
The Children’s Park
As a lot of parents with their children are coming to the Shanghai Century Park it is quite natural that there are some sections which provide the entertainment to the children. This can come quite handy since it will provide them with the opportunity to use their endless energy in a safe and natural environment, while you will have the opportunity to relax.
