Tour Description

There are many short daytrips possible out of Shanghai and one of the most worthy is a jaunt to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town to see a long dated version of China not seen in its urban centers. You can depart either in the morning or at noon.

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Shanghai and take you a town called Qingpu about 50 minutes from the city. This is where Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is located. With more than 1,000 years of history under its belt, Zhujiajiao holds a true piece of the puzzle in China's past. There are 36 bridges, many streets, gardens, and rivers that exude the legacy of eras gone by. Over 1,000 homes constructed between the 14th and 20th century still stand to this day on both sides of 9 narrow streets. In addition, you will visit Kezhi Garden, Great Qing Post Office, Tong Tian He Chinese Pharmacy and Humanistic Museum as some highlights here in the down. Another big highlight is taking a boat ride passing under antique stone bridges for about 15-20 minutes, which provides a  totally different angle to soak up the beauty of the town.

At the end of your visit, we will comfortably take you back to Shanghai.
