Shanghai has several renowned convention centers, including Intex Shanghai, the International Convention Center, the Everbright Convention & Exhibition, the New International Expo Center, and the Pudong Expo. Intex Shanghai
Intex Shanghai is an exhibition center built in 1992, located in Shanghai Hongqiao Economic & Technological Development Zone. In 1995 Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd. was established with a registered capital of 12 million dollars. It was the first international exhibition hall approved by ISO9001 quality certification in China. The corporation enjoys a good reputation amongst peers and has successfully held many exhibitions for over 20 years.
Intex Shanghai majors in exhibition hall leases, exhibition hall management, and self-organized exhibitions. The center has two floors with a combined area of 12,000 square meters and well-developed supporting facilities. Generally, it holds about 50 exhibitions annually. Most are international trade exhibitions.
Since Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd. passed ISO9001 quality certification, it has also provided exhibition hall management for exhibition centers in other cities in China. The corporation itself started to organize exhibitions in 1998, and in recent years it has regularly held eight self-organized exhibitions.

Shanghai International Convention Center
Shanghai International Convention Center is famous worldwide for its specialization in holding large international conventions and business forums. It is located on Binjiang Avenue in Pudong District, facing the Bund, very near the Oriental Pearl TV & Radio Tower.
With an area of 110,000 square meters, the center consists of the convention center and a hotel called Oriental Riverside Hotel Shanghai. The center includes a 4,300-square-meter, multi-functional hall, a 3,600-square-meter news center, and over 30 halls available for 50–800 people.
Shanghai Hall, which has a capacity of 3,000 people, is the biggest multi-functional hall without columns in the city. The hotel has about 260 suites of different standards and a variety of dining halls and entertainment centers. The last Fortune Global Forum of the 20th century was held there in September 1999.
On floor 11 there is a roof garden and a roof observation corridor. The garden is situated in a huge sphere with many verdant ornamental trees. Visitors can enjoy the view of the Bund while having coffee there. The 100-meter-long corridor has two separate floors for sightseeing and leisure.

Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center
Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center was developed and built by Everbright Group, a comprehensive building for exhibitions, conferences, hotels, businesses, dining, and entertainment.
The center covers an area of 26,000 square meters, including the East Wing and the West Wing, which are connected by a mid-air corridor. The East Wing is mainly used for exhibition halls, a 4-star hotel, and apartments. The West Wing is a 3-story standard exhibition hall. The center is the major venue in southwest Shanghai for exhibitions, international conventions, and seminars.

Shanghai New International Expo Center
Shanghai New International Expo, is a joint exhibition center owned by a Shanghai company and several German corporations. The first joint exhibition center in China opened to the public in 2001, SNIEC is one of the most successful exhibition centers in the country.
The center has an indoor exhibition area covering 200,000 square meters with 17 no-column halls, and an outdoor exhibition area of 100,000 square meters. SNIEC is a multi-functional exhibition center equipped with advanced facilities and specialized services, making it an important exhibition platform for international exhibitions, as well as social and company activities. It holds about 80 exhibitions, attracting about 3 million people, every year.

- There are many Hotels around the center, and all are very convenient, ranging from 5 to 3 stars, including some boutiques. We recommend the 5-star hotels Kerry Hotel, Pudong Shanghai, Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai, and Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort. The choice of 4-star hotels is LDF All Suites Hotel and Ramada Plaza Pudong. For a 3-star hotel, we recommend the Jinjiang Hotel located in Lujiazui.

Shanghai Exhibition Center
Shanghai Exhibition Center is the oldest exhibition center built in 1995. It mainly serves for activities of the Chinese government, including foreign affairs events. The center has received three Chinese chairmen and about ten heads of state or government. the most important political conferences in Shanghai are held there. In addition, there are over 100 exhibitions and commercial promotional activities held there every year.
Located at the junction of Nanjing West Road and Yan’an Middle Road, the center enjoys a really good location. The building is of outstanding Russian style, which makes the center one of “The Ten Most Classical Buildings in Shanghai” in 1999. It has experienced several renovations, and now the center is 22,000 square meters, with the exhibition area in the south and the conference area in the north.

Shanghai Pudong Expo
Shanghai Pudong Expo is a modern and multi-functional exhibition center located in Pudong District. The Expo is controlled and managed by GL Events, who hold different kinds of activities, exhibitions, and conferences with a capacity of up to 20,000 people, mostly held on Floor 1 and Floor 2.
Floor 3 has two halls where natural light can penetrate all walls. On the fourth floor, there are two 7.5-meter-tall, no-column halls, whose outer walls and ceilings can be moved for better lighting at different times. Most activities held there are high-end exhibitions and conferences for fashion, music, jewelry, and motor vehicles.
