I have no suggestions but good things to say about China Highlights. It is always scary when you are dealing with an unknown company located in a far away country. Nancy, you were very helpful and professional and I would certainly not hesitate to recommend you and the company to anyone. It was so wonderful to have someone meet us at the airports, transport us to our hotels, help us check in, help us check in at the airports when we were leaving, give us information about things to see and how to get there on the days that we did not have guides. I would definitely recommend a small group tour such as we did to be able to see so many things and be able to ask questions and get answers.

Hi Nancy,

Our China tour absolutely exceeded our expectations.!! We were pleased and completely satisfied with all of your services. We do feel that this was the best tour itinerary for us since it enabled us to see all of the  places we were interested in.

As far as the most memorable attraction that is very hard. We each seem to have different things that were most memorable but I think the one we all agree on was the Terra Cotta warriors. Some of us had seen an exhibit of them in Boston many years ago, when they were first uncovered. But to see them in their 'found' setting and to experience the size of the 'discovery' was beyond our imagination.

Again it was difficult to decide on the most outstanding tour guide. We really enjoyed, Jack in Beijing, Pan in Shanghai, Tracy in Guillin and Sam in Hong Kong. But I think we all agree Rainy in Xian was outstanding. Judy seemed to sum it up effectively: ' When i think everything over, a pivitol moment was whichever guide early on brought us to that first noodle place( that was Rainy) and left us. She read us well enough to know that we were confidant, comfortable ladies, willing to try a local place. That set the tone for much of our best adventures. We weren't corralled and led by the hand everywhere which makes the trip special. ' Rainy had a wonderful sense of us and what we were interested in and not interested in. She also arranged for a wonderful Birthday Celebration for Judy at the Tang Dynasty Show- everyone singing Happy Birthday and the wonderful cake with the firecracker. Another guide could have left us there and gone home early since we needed to be at the airport early the next morning but she stayed around to be sure our birthday celebration was special. And I'm not really sure how she knew it was Judy's birthday!!

The hotels and breakfasts were spectacular. I think the breakfast at the Novotel in Beijing was probably the most extensive. But the breakfasts at all of the others were also fine and the location of each of them was perfect. Although I was not originally happy with the change of hotels in Xian, the hotel was excellent and because of the weather and our busy day we were quite happy to eat at the hotel that night ( it was quite good) and the next night we did the dumplings and Tang Dynasty Show so it worked out fine.

The Yangtze River cruise came at a perfect time. It was nice to do some sightseeing in the morning and then be able to rest and relax in the afternoons. We caught up on our sleep and reading. The food was excellent and we enjoyed our table companions- one couple from Australia and one couple from Germany.

We did do some shopping, mainly in local markets which we searched out or were suggested by the tour guides.

I have no suggestions but good things to say about China Highlights. It is always scary when you are dealing with an unknown company located in a far away country. Regarding the phone rental, it was very convenient and comforting to have the cell phone and the tour guide's phone number in case we needed it( we didn't). It also made it much easier to check in with our families at home not having to look for a phone or purchase a phone card except in Hong Kong.

Again, thank you for all your help. I am glad we had the opportunity to met you in Guilin.
