Kern's Feedback on 13-Day China Tour

We were very happy with all of our food and dining selections. Both the ones you had preselected for our lunches and the ones we chose for dinner - some with the guides assistance. Certainly, some were better than others but overall the quality and service were more than acceptable and I speak as a restaurant manager and owner for 35 years in the US including managing a large Polynesian/Chinese restaurant with 17 Chinese cooks.

Dear Ruby,

Out trip to China was , in every respect, better than we expected.

Our primary problem was our itinerary was just a bit too rigorous - but that was our own choice and we enjoyed everything we saw and did.

We are all seniors and perhaps a younger group would not have the same comments.

If I were to do it over again or make suggestions to another group I would reluctantly have to advise eliminating some tours or add on extra days with free time.

Our group of four are all in agreement that the training, high caliber and quality, and organization of the tour guides contributed immensely to our enjoyment of our trip.

Jeff in Beijing was far above and beyond our expectations. He worked very hard on all details to make us comfortable and looked after each and every one of us in a personal way. At the end of our four days we felt as if we had made a new and personal friend.

Michael in Datong /Pingyao was much the same. Very knowledgeable, hard working and looked after us in every detail and we established a personal friedship as well.

We didn't spend much time with our guides in Xian and Shanghai (Vivian and Rainy) but they were both well trained and professional. Vivian was especially helpful in loading us onto our overnight train from Xian to Shanghai - as we would have been nearly helpless withour her.

In all we had four different drivers and they were all very courteous, helpful and -  above all  -excellent and safe drivers. Never speeding or making us nervous in any way.

Ruby, your periodic calls to check on our progress and satisfaction were also much appreciated and gave us a comfortable feeling that if any problem arose that the guides could not handle that you would find a solution.

We did make some itinerary changes in Xian and Shanghai as we were all getting weary of sightseeing and walking and we got very good cooperation from the guides and they worked with us to accomodate our needs and requests. Flexibility was very important to us when booking the trip and one of the reasons we selected China Highlights was your commitment to flexibility for clients and we were very happy with the way that the guides handled our desired changes.

I could probably think up a few minor criticisms or inconveniences but I feel no need to do so as the overall trip and our satisfaction with China Highlights was far beyond our expectations and I would look forward to booking again with China Highlights and highly recommend your services to anyone.
