Java, our tour guide in Chengdu, did all kinds of extras. She went with us to our hotel room to make sure everything was satisfactory. She gave up most of her evenings to take us places she recommended that we wanted to see, she got us unique foods/teas in the Sichuan province to try, she was always offering us snacks she had in her bag, she made sure we didn’t have any issues with an ATM, etc. She literally did WOW us with her generosity, kindness, and overall level of service. A++++

Hi Michael,

This tour itinerary was perfect!Michael did an awesome job tailoring a tour to what we wanted to see.We were able to see everything we wanted plus a few bonus things our guides recommended.

It is a tie between the Great Wall of China and the Panda Research center in Chengdu. Our Panda Internship is something we will always remember. The Great Wall is absolutely astounding!

The hotels and meals were great. My favorite was the Tianfu Sunshine Hotel in Chengdu. The meals were really good at breakfast. We had tons of variety from Western breakfast, Chinese food, Japanese food, etc.

We went to the Pearl Market in Beijing and the Chengdu Shu Borcade and Embroidery Museum.

The guides walked us into the airport to make sure we were able to find out flights with no problem. After we left Chengdu we had a flight layover in Kumming on our way to Bangkok. That was the worst experience I have ever had traveling around the world(I booked it on my own).It made us appreciate how Eddie Java made the airport portion so easy. The food recommendations were also really nice. Our guides would offer up suggestions based on our taste in food.It made our dining experiences much more enjoyable than when we did this solo.Another WOW was the way they were always waiting for you when you landed. It was refreshing after traveling all day to have the guide there and ready to go.Another thing that made us go WOW was the flexibility our guides showed with us.We were able to switch stuff up with Eddie on the Beijing portion – like see the Great wall on day 2 instead of right when we got off the plane.Java also allowed us to be flexible. She coordinated us getting to hold the panda bear at the Chengdu Research center and traveling to Le Shun to see the Giant Buddha. One final comment I wanted to add was the fact that Michael called and checked in on us.I was completely shocked.A lot of times you book tours with someone and then they hand you off to others. It was refreshing that China Highlights was different. Michael took the time to call and make sure everything we planned together was working out.He wanted to make sure we were happy with our guides, selections, main attractions, etc.You really do outperform any tour I have traveled with.

We really loved the professional and extraordinary customer service we experienced with China Highlights.I would definitely recommend you to anyone I know that is going to China. It was truly worth the expense, you were highly dependable, and flexible to work with.

I would strongly recommend that travelers don’t miss the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and the Chengdu Panda Center. These are amazing places!!Java took us to a Tea House show that was awesome. It was a variety show of Sichuan Opera, mask changes, singers, etc.Java took us to some great restaurants during our Evening hours. One was a place to try the Hot Pots.It was a lot of fun.She also took us to a local Chinese favorite restaurant where we got to try tons of different sample Sichuan foods. It allowed us to really get a feel for the different kinds of foods in the area.

Have a great day,

Susan
