The trip worked out well, and I really appreciated the extra effort you made to deal with my last minute changes of plan. Overall I had a very enjoyable visit and would be pleased to recommend your service to others in the future.

Karen,

I really do appreciate your excellent service.

The trip worked out well, and I really appreciated the extra effort you made to deal with my last minute changes of plan. For the train tickets deliver, someone met me at airport rather than at be sent at Hotel, luckily I did not get immediately into a taxi to Tangkou town. I found that no way to get from Huangshan airport to Tangkou except taxis, and the price is CNY220 for one.

The Ala Hotel was close to the park entrance and so was a good choice for me because I wanted to get on the first bus up to the cable car.  It is not very fancy.  If I were doing this again I would stay instead at one of the hotels in the hot spring town Wenquan, which seems to be a more pleasant area than Tankou and is closer to the cable car.

The maps of Huangshan that I saw were inadequate.  Visitors need to be aware that they should not carry any more than one backpack up the mountain because they need to carry anything they bring fairly long distances up and down steep hills; the maps really do not make this clear.

I was booked at the Beiyun but there's also a hotel named the Peiyun so you should advise visitors to make sure they go to the right one.  No wifi at the Beiyun.  Also note that the hotel has two buildings and the older one (building #1) where I stayed is also not very clean. Perhaps it would be better to ask for rooms in the main building (#2). The staff at the hotel were very helpful though and the bar was excellent.

Your advice about bringing instant noodles for dinner on the train was very good as they did not have meals on board, only beer, soft drinks and some crackers. The train ride was fine and thank you for getting me a lower bunk.  The Huangshan train station does not have signs in English but you can advise foreign visitors with the soft sleeper tickets to wait in the waiting room on the right side of the station where the staff will inform you when your train is ready to board.

Overall I had a very enjoyable visit and would be pleased to recommend your service to others in the future.

Best Wishes,

Christopher
