Tour Description

Daxu Ancient Town is one of the 4 famous old towns in the Guangxi Province which was founded in the Qin Dynasty. Today you will see a mix of antiquated constructions amid more modern ones from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially along Bluestone Street.

On arrival, you will instantly be struck by the dramatic preserved buildings. Some have beautiful facades while others hide their beauty behind walls in the form of courtyards and private quarters. Many of these old wooden residences, shops, and stalls are still in business. The main sight in Daxu is the 13 old docks. These were used in ancient times for loading and offloading precious trade items from the Ming Dynasty and some of them remain in use. Rural life continues as it always has for centuries and the local market will show you more.

Enjoy a fine lunch at the old town and return to the city afterwards.
