See the best of Shanghai in the mix of the ancient and the modern in this cosmopolitan city. Wander through the ancient walkways between antique buildings in Zhouzhuang Ancient Water Town and take a boat ride and experience tranquility of the old canals.
Your private tour includes pickup from the airport and transfers you to your hotel in a private vehicle upon your arrival. Relax and recover from your flight for the rest of today.
Today you will see some of the top sights close to the city center. After having breakfast in the hotel and your guide will take you to the Bund, the landmark of Shanghai city which sits on the bank of the Huangpu River. Walk along the Bund and listen as your guide tells stories about the deco-style buildings around the waterfront area.
Then explore the beauty of Yuyuan Garden which is an excellent example of a classical southern garden. Built in 1559 in the Ming Dynasty, this garden was a private garden consisting of tree-lined walkways, rockeries surrounded by ponds and ancient houses with notable antiques. We include a short visit to a local silk workshop to see how the silk is made and what is produced from the efforts of the tiny worms. Break the day by having a lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon head to the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall to see the cities past, present and future explained in huge models. The detail is quite amazing.
The last stop today is to the Floor 100 of the Shanghai World Financial Center to see this city as the birds do! The transparent glass floor makes you feel like you are walking in the clouds. Visits to Floor 94 and Floor 97 are also included. These visits enable you to enjoy cool and panoramic views of the impressive city skyline.
Zhouzhuang Water Town, "the Venice of East" is today's destination. 1 1/2 hours drive from Shanghai, the guide will accompany you from Shanghai to Zhouzhuang with your private car after collecting you from the hotel.
As the most famous and with the reputation for being the most beautiful water town in China, step back into time at the antique residences built in the Ming and Qing dynasties and walking through the carved-brick archways. Cross the Fu’an Bridge and the Twin Bridge which are fine examples of the ancient stone bridges in the town. Shen’s House was a private residence during the Qing Dynasty which displays a water gate, a gate tower and main hall. The artworks - carvings, sculptures and other relics tell stories of its history. The Residence of Shen Wansan provides a deeper insight into local culture of these water towns.
You will have lunch in a local restaurant and see the renowned Eight Attractions of Zhouzhuang. The Bizarre Tower will leave you with a special memory. You could even expect to see more of locals' daily life by taking the Chinese-style boat through the winding canals under several stone bridges and indulging yourself under the shadow of willow trees. When you are finished, your guide and driver will drive you back to your hotel in Shanghai.

The prices for one person are based on sharing twin hotel rooms with another guest. A supplement is necessary if you want to book single rooms. And the prices may rise during national holidays, such as the National Day (September 30th to October 6th) and Chinese New Year (late January or early February)
