China is an absolute time capsule: on this 8 day tour, experience everything from ancient cultures to modern miracles. The mysteries of the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Entombed Terracotta Warriors of Xian are there to be discovered by you alongside amazing New China in Shanghai and Beijing.
Upon arrival, your Beijing local guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel by private vehicle. The rest of the day is your own arrangement where you can relax and wander around leisurely. Your guide can help give you suggestions of what you can do nearby.
Your guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby at appointed time and take you to Tiananmen Square to start your Beijing trip.
Strolling through the biggest city square in the world, you will see the famous Forbidden City. When looking back to the history of the Chinese royal family, you will see the bed of Empress Dowager during the Qing Dynasty. Treasure Houses are included in the visit.
After the lunch, visit the Hutong to experience real Beijing culture, a great contrast with that of the Forbidden City. Check out a Pearl Workshop to see the manufacturing process of pearls.
Temple of Heaven
Your third day is a day of wonder – to The Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall. In the morning your guide will take you Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, the most popular section with our customers because its less-crowded and for its amazing scenery. Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience as you walk the Wall and capture this amazing architecture as it snakes around mountains and terrain.
Next stop, a drive back to the city centre to see the Temple of Heaven. Emperors in the past worshipped the god of heaven, wishing for a good harvest for the year to come. Local people play cards, Chinese chess in the park and you may get to see some elderly people practice calligraphy on the ground –a cool experience if you want to join them.
Before departing Beijing, a visit to once royal family’s summer retreat place – the Summer Palace. Its royal garden is not only one of must-see attractions in Beijing but also the one of the best spots in China. The Garden of Virtue and Harmony and a boat ride on the lake are included.
On your way to the airport, the car will stop at the Beijing Olympic Stadiums to visit Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Continue on to the airport to take your flight for Xi’an – China’s ancient capital. Enjoy a 2-hour flight and there you will be met and taken to your hotel.
Terracotta Army
An archeological gem of Xi’an and China — The Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Discovered accidentally in 1974, this incredible army in full battle shocked the world and continues to attract numerous visitors. Learn and view this ancient tomb dating back to 210 B.C.
Not only do you learn about China’s history today, but you will also learn about the fine crafts –Chinese jade carving at the Imperial Fine Arts Center.
Today you enjoy and relax. Continue your history lesson and visit the Shaanxi Historical Museum. Many valuable Chinese relics are on display. The Muslim Quarter is good way to observe local Hui culture and sample its food.
The City Wall is also an exciting part as you can appreciate modern Xi’an and ancient Xi’an at the same time. Locals also like to stroll along the wall or you can hire a bike and cycle around to enjoy the views from all angles. Your guide will escort you to the airport for your Shanghai trip.
Meet your Shanghai guide and transfer to your Shanghai Hotel.
The highlights of Shanghai are all packed in today for you. First stop is the Yuyuan Garden to enjoy the elegant ancient buildings and special layout of a typical Chinese garden.
Then visit the Bund along the Huangpu River, the landmark of Shanghai and the best place to take a memorable photo of your Shanghai trip. On the opposite side of the river is an array of modern skyscrapers and the Shanghai World Financial Center. Ascend to the Floor 94, Floor 97 and Floor 100 to get a panoramic view of modern Shanghai city center from different angles.
Explore how Shanghai will be transformed, by stopping and making a visit to the Shanghai Planning Exhibition Hall.
Your last day in China, enjoy a big breakfast at the hotel. Your guide and driver will be waiting for you to take you to the airport for your international flight. Farewell and we wish you a good flight home.
We use different hotels for different tour classes while the itinerary is the same. Deluxe Class is usually staying at a 5-star hotel, Superior Class at a 4-star hotel and Tourist Class at a 3-star level hotel. The prices for one person are based on sharing twin hotel rooms with another guest. A supplement is necessary if you want to book single rooms. And the prices may rise during national holidays, such as the National Day (September 30th to October 6th) and Chinese New Year (late January or early February)
